Bishop to Bishop Pass trail – 13 miles not on the PCT -841 miles total.
We caught the shuttle back to South lake to start the trek back up the pass to get back onto the PCT. It wasn’t too bad to get up to the top of the pass. The worst was near the end. The snow was slushy and the footsteps kicked into too far apart for me, so my foot slid a few times and I had to kick in footsteps closer together.

Once up top we had much, then started the slushy descent. Which was also a rock scramble. At the moment the new boots appear to be better for me on snow. But not as good on normal trail as they don’t have the softness to step down without jarring. You can’t win!
We finally made it back to the PCT at 4pm and set up camp for the night ready for the long slough over Muir Pass tomorrow.
Today I am thankful that boots seems to make snow travel slightly easier.
